BMI The Alexandra Hospital presents £10K cheque to Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff for his children's Charity
Posted 01 December 2009
Clinicians and staff at BMI The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle presented a £10,000 cheque to Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff to support the charity he set up with his wife Rachael, which provides vital funds to build, develop and improve child rehabilitation and physiotherapy units throughout the country.
The money was raised at a recent BMI Healthcare Sports Enthusiasts Dinner held at Lancashire County Cricket Club. The event included a keynote speech from Will Greenwood, former England Rugby Team Captain and an auction of prizes, kindly donated from various organisations and individuals.
Mr Flintoff said “I am very grateful to the team at The Alexandra Hospital for raising such a huge amount for the AF Foundation. This will help us to continue the work we’re doing in providing the best environment in a child-friendly way for kids recovering from major operations or cerebral palsy. Personally, I’ve had physiotherapy for most of my career, and I have found it very tough. The AF Foundation wants to make it easier for kids to help with their rehabilitation.”
Andrew Flintoff accepts the cheque for £10,155 from Samantha Sheehan, Consultant Relations Director at BMI The Alexander Hospital.
