Company ResultsFor the year ended September 2006, General Healthcare Group achieved turnover of £644 million and EBITDA of £149 million. The Group continues to invest heavily in its hospitals in order to remain the independent health care provider of choice. Over the last three years, the Group has invested over £170 million in expanding and improving patient facilities. In 2006, the Group’s majority shareholder became Network Healthcare Holdings Limited (Netcare), the largest, integrated private health care organisation in Southern Africa. BMI Healthcare is a group of 48 acute care private patient hospitals throughout the United Kingdom with over 2,400 beds. Handling over 250,000 inpatient and 750,000 out-patient visits each year, nearly half the procedures undertaken for patients are of a major or complex nature.
