BMI Healthcare performs, as a minimum standard, annual nursing audits. Further performance audits including Theatre Practice are based on the National Association of Theatre Nurses Audit. Results of audits are collated and reports reviewed at local, regional and national levels.

This ongoing process provides BMI Healthcare with a standardised system of nursing performance criteria. Within each region and at national level the system facilitates benchmarking best practice and identification of focus areas for development.
