Adrian Fawcett is Chief Executive Officer of General Healthcare Group, the leading provider of independent health care services throughout the UK and the UK’s largest private hospital company. He also sits on the Board of the Department of Work & Pensions. Previously, Adrian was the Chief Operating Officer for Punch Taverns Plc. He joined Punch from Interbrew where he was Corporate Vice President of the Belgian brewer. Prior to this, Adrian spent six years at Bass Brewers from 1996 to 2001, culminating in his position as Group Managing Director of Bass Brewers Operating Companies. Phil Wieland joined the General Healthcare Group as Group Financial Controller in April 2006 and was subsequently promoted to Chief Financial Officer in January 2007. He had previously been employed by BskyB, holding numerous senior finance positions including Supply Chain Finance Director and Group Financial Controller. Phil qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in 1998 and holds a first class honours degree from Leeds University. Jo LeCouilliard, Chief Operating Officer
Jo joined BMI in November 2005 from GlaxoSmithKline where she spent 10 years in increasingly senior roles in general management and pharmaceutical marketing. Most recently, she was Business Unit Head, US Vaccines and previously General Manager in Ireland. Before joining GSK, Jo worked at Schroder Ventures and Coopers & Lybrand. Stephen Collier, General Counsel
Stephen Collier is a barrister employed in the field of health care, having previously been in practice at the Bar. Stephen has a graduate degree in law from University College London, and a Masters gained at the LSE. He worked as a corporate lawyer to the Group in the 1980s, and following the Group’s successful stock exchange listing in 1988 moved to Glasgow to become Executive Director of Ross Hall Hospital. Stephen followed that with a period of working across Europe being board member of hospitals in Sweden and Denmark in the 1990s, the central challenge of which was working within Sweden’s newly introduced ‘Patient Free Choice’ reforms. Stephen has since returned to a full time legal role, whilst continuing to maintain close links with operating businesses in the fields of both acute elective care, MRI joint ventures and assisted conception, where he is Chairman of CARE. He has been extensively involved in work in clinical governance, drawing on the combination of his operational experience and his legal background. Catherine Ward, Human Resources Director
Catherine has extensive experience within HR management and consultancy. Previous HR Director positions include roles at BAA, where she was HR Director for Heathrow Airport and managed the integration of Budapest Airport post acquisition, and the BBC, where she managed major restructuring initiatives. As a consultant she has worked for KPMG and for SHL as Consultancy Director, where she was responsible for the consultancy and training business, and has provided post merger consultancy support to several organisations. Catherine has a BSc in Biology and an MSc in Organisation Behaviour, both from the University of London, and qualified as a CIPD. Tony Lundin, Management Services Director
Prior to transferring from Netcare to GHG to oversee the integration of the UK business in June 2006, Tony spent 11 years with Netcare South Africa at both operational and corporate levels. Most recently, he headed up Group Management Services, an internal consulting division within Netcare, principally to help line managers optimise current businesses through performance improvement programmes and to develop new businesses for the Group through mergers, acquisitions, greenfield and expansion projects both locally and internationally. Previously, as General Manager Finance, he was directly responsible for the hospital finances & administration of 44 hospitals (6,750 beds) and 6 support structures including 3 regions. Belinda Moore, Marketing Director
Belinda Moore joined GHG in May 2007 from Britvic plc where she was Head of Marketing and Operations for the International division. Before joining Britvic, Belinda held a series of senior marketing roles in a number of leading FMCG and blue chip organisations including Whitbread plc, Thomson Travel Group, Gillette Company and International Distillers & Vintners. She also spent 6 years in pharmaceutical sales and marketing for the Wellcome Foundation. Back to Top
